PANTONE Color of the Year 2016
PANTONE decided to do something new in 2016 for the always anticipated Color of the Year. They chose two colors: Rose Quartz and Serenity.
"As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace."
Kudos PANTONE! I am loving the pastel trend that seems to be moving across different arenas from interiors to beauty to fashion to lifestyle and beyond! It is a nice change from the bold colors of the past (which I still love) and really speaks to today's culture in which people seek to find more peace and acceptance, both inward and outward. Speaking of trends, I WANT to jump on the high-tops bandwagon and rock the Vans below that have a touch of blush pink, and I might even try the pink hair thing one day soon (although I think my hair may be a little too dark...). A couple other inspirations below to get your Rose Quartz and Serenity fix. What trends are you seeing and following these days?
P.S. What do you think of the smoke bomb photoshoot we did for Living Spaces (photo above)? We used Enola Gaye smoke grenades. Pretty cool, huh?! 1. Color Puddle Wall Decal / 2. Pink Wall / 3.
