Who is Joseph Kony?
Invisible Children is not another fad non-profit organization (Yes, those do exist!). They've been around for nearly 10 years, and they are still fighting to end child soldering in Uganda and stop the longest running war in Africa. How are they furthering their efforts in 2012? By making the man behind the death and destruction of thousands of innocent children in Uganda famous. Yes, famous. If people know who Joseph Kony is, what he looks like, and what he's doing, they're more likely to want to be involved in bringing him down. Our government has aided the efforts of finding Joseph Kony for nearly two years, but without a growing interest from the American people, they're threatening to stop aiding this humanitarian crisis. Speak up! The power and technology our country possesses isn't just about acting in retaliation and defensive when we feel threatened. It's about using our resources as a first-world country to help our neighbors around the world. Even if there is no monetary, democratic, or land gain for us, there is a win for the entire world we live in.
